Bash, the Bourne Again Shell, is excellent for writing useful shell scripts. It far surpasses the Windows native cmd shell, and in ease of use, it exceeds PowerShell by far, in the opinion of this author. However, as one can do the same tasks by many different methods, selection of shell is a personal choice if the operating system allows.
